Low Fat Banana Bread

FullSizeRender copyI love home baked bread. It makes the house smell incredible and you look like Martha Stewart in front of your friends when you serve it. I also like how I can control how much sugar goes into each loaf, I’m kind of a control freak when it comes to sugar. Don’t get me wrong I am a devoted sweet tooth… But I also like being able to zip my jeans. This recipe is easy on the waistline, curbs your sweet craving, and doesn’t compromise in the taste department.

Low Fat Banana Bread

1 cup mashed bananas (I use organic bananas)

2/3 cup white sugar

2 eggs

1/4 cup butter (margarine can be substituted)

1/4 cup water

1/4 teaspoon vanilla

1 and 1/3 cups flour

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)

Start by preheating the oven to 350.

Grease a 9″ by 5″ loaf pan with butter, margarine or cooking spray.

Mix the bananas, sugar, eggs, butter, water and vanilla in a mixer (or by hand). After this is fully blended you will add the flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. Add chocolate chips last and bake for 1 hour.
